Our beloved Louise Pace Thornton was born on Sept. 21,1959 in Coffeeville, to the late Willie Pace and Annie Walker Pace. She confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of the Church of Christ in Coffeeville.
God gave her rest on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.
After attending Coffeeville High School, Louise married Joseph Thornton. Louise worked as a seamstress for many years at Simplex in Thomasville. Later, she found a love for cooking and became employed at Jackson Steakhouse in Jackson. Louise loved people and she loved to give to and serve others. This love led her to become a caregiver to many in the community until the Lord called her home.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Willie Pace and Annie Walker Pace; four brothers, Frank Pace, Bobby Pace, Grant Pace and Christopher Pace Sr.; two sisters, Willie Odean Smith Thomas and Christine Pace Lucas; grandparents, Gayle Pace and Parlee Pace, and Grant Walker and Louise Walker; and nephew, Johnny Earl Pace.
Louise leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband of 40 years, Joseph Thornton of Coffeeville; six children, Gary (Kenya) Pace of Tampa, Fla., Joseph (Lashea) Pace of Mobile, Annie Pace of Quitman, Miss., Marciano (Jasmine) Thornton of Wilmer, Devante Brown of Tuscaloosa and Jamar Brown of Panama City, Fla.; 16 loving grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Thornton of Killeen, Texas, and Erick (Nancy) Thornton of Pittsburg, Pa.; three sisters-in-law, Joann (Kenny) Houser of Killeen, Texas, Mary Pace of Quitman, Miss., and Barbara Jean Pace of Mobile; a special sister-in-law, Gladys Turner of Coffeeville; four special friends, Hattie Thomas, Sandra Pace, Rachel Pugh Montgomery and Ella Tate; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
