Louise Mattie (Durham) (Pitts) Rash, 89, of Viola, Arkansas, passed from this life on May 2, 2021, surrounded by family in Salem, Arkansas. Louise was born May 9, 1931 to Edward Swanson Durham and Ludie (Ragland) Durham in Lauratown, Arkansas.
Louise was married to Abner Carter Pitts on August 18, 1947 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas. She later married Kenneth Eugene Rash on May 24, 1994 in Viola, Arkansas. Louise worked at the Tri County Shirt Company in Salem, Arkansas and Baxter Labs in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Louise loved watching birds, gardening and flowers. She was a world class chef to her family and enjoyed cooking for the family gatherings and holidays. Her specialty was a chocolate cake and pinto beans with cornbread. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Louise was of the Church of Christ faith.
Louise leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Phyllis Reynolds (Paul) of Mountain Home, Arkansas and three sons, Carl Pitts (Martha) of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Ronald Pitts of Salem, Arkansas and Stanley Pitts of Viola, Arkansas; grandchildren, Keith Pitts (Tabby) of Pangburn, Arkansas, Michael Pitts (Stanley) of Avon, Colorado, and Kimberly Santos (Yan) of Carson, California; two great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ruben Pitts; both her husbands; parents; brother, L.S. Durham and a multitude of loved family and friends.
