Louise Marie McLaughlin of Hebron, NE the daughter of Earl and Erma (McGee) Berry was born June 13, 1918 in Hiawatha, KS. She departed this life Thursday March 25, 2010 at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 91 years.
She grew up in the Hiawatha area and graduated from Hiawatha High School with the class of 1936. She married Ralph W. McLaughlin on April 9, 1939. This union was blessed with the birth of one son.
Louise was a gentle and loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Hebron, NE serving as financial secretary from 1974 to 2004, a member of the Hebron American Legion Auxiliary for 57 years, and treasurer of the Hospital Guild for 10 years.
Louise and her husband Ralph owned Mandy’s Cafe in Hebron from 1948 to 1965. After the cafe business she went to work for the Thayer County Court House serving as Deputy County Clerk from 1964 to 1987, she then worked for the Thayer County Abstract Office from 1988 until her retirement in 1998. She also volunteered many hours at Things and Stuff in Hebron.
