Louise “Leelie” Clough Meyer of Plymouth, died peacefully on September 14th in her home. She was born in Plymouth, seventh child and daughter of the late Robert and Louise “Weezie” Fry Meyer. A lifelong resident of Plymouth and a graduate of Plymouth–Carver High School, Leelie attended Endicott College and then married the late Gerry Parent of Carver. She raised their two sons, Eric and Oliver, in Plymouth. Later marrying Charlie Batchelor, she became the beloved mother to Christopher Batchelor and opened Meadow Brook B&B on Jordan Rd. Here she welcomed visitors for many years from all over the world with a genuine passion and an open heart. She later became a licensed real estate agent in Plymouth. She always opened her doors on holidays and put others’ needs before her own. Being incredibly witty and humorous, Leelie was also inspired by the arts. She landscaped, painted, and enjoyed playing piano, ukulele, harp and singing. She had a strong connection throughout her life with the ocean, with a love for sailing, swimming, and kayaking. In earlier years Leelie was an avid member of Plymouth’s Eel River Beach Club and throughout her life a member of the Plymouth Yacht Club. Leelie is survived by her sons, Eric (Paula) Parent of Plymouth and Christopher (Erin) Batchelor of Kingston. Leelie was the mother of the late Oliver Parent, whom she dearly missed. She was sister to Virginia (the late Roscoe) Holmes of Plymouth, Orin (Ann) Meyer of Plymouth, Robert (Diane) Meyer of Michigan, Barbara (Michael) Meyer/Perloff, of Medfield, Richard (Susan) Meyer of Norwell, and Patricia Meyer of Colorado. Leelie is grandmother to Oliver, Alex, the late Wyatt Parent, Emma, and Abby Batchelor. Leelie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and countless friends. All of us will always treasure our fond memories and joyful family togetherness with our beautiful girl, Leelie.
