Louise Elizabeth Schnitker, 86, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Centralia Manor. Louise was born November 26, 1930, in Hoyleton, the eldest child of Arnold and Frances (Ellerbusch) Rixmann.
She married Alvin Schnitker on November 7, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2002.
In addition to her husband, Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Patricia, son Clark, brother Jerald Rixmann, and sister Irma Ruth Tyberendt.
Louise is survived by daughter-in-law Barbara; son-in-law Michael Fischer; grandchildren Chad Schnitker and wife Angie of Hoyleton and Brooke Schnitker of Chicago; great-granddaughters Gracie Marie and Annie Louise of Hoyleton; brother James Rixmann and wife Ali of Bella Vista, Arkansas; sister-in-law Karen Rixmann of Hoyleton; nieces; nephews; and cousins; special friends: Roy and Linda Alton. Louise was a graduate of Nashville Community High School.
She was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia. She and her husband were members of the adult choir for many years. She had also been a member of the Centralia Palette and Brush Club. Louise loved and enjoyed sacred choral music. Among her hobbies were knitting, sewing, fine and decorative painting, and caring for her pet dogs.
