BARKHAMSTED –PARROTT – Louis Parrott, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Carol (Hammond) Parrott for 58 years. Born October 29, 1936 in Pine Meadow in the family home to James Parrott, Sr., and Jessie (Caine) Parrott. Lou worked for the CT State Highway Department for 37 years and when retiring he owned and operated a cleaning business. His passion was his family, modified stock car racing, coaching baseball with his boys and taking care of the horses. He loved telling jokes, going to the beach, playing horseshoes and card parties. Lou was the creator of “Lou’s special spaghetti” sauce. He also enjoyed coaching the Senior Little League and Babe Ruth Teams. He was a devoted husband and father and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two sons, Louis Parrott, Jr., and wife Johanna and Gerald Parrott and wife Laurie; granddaughters, Leah and Colleen; and mother-in-law, Juliette Hammond.
