Louis Papp, age 89, of Monroe, beloved husband of Anita Rosell Papp, passed away on Monday May 30, 2022 at the Bridgeport Hospital.
He was born in Bridgeport on November 22, 1932 and was the youngest of nine children of Alexander
and Agnes Pek Papp. He spent his very early years in Bridgeport before moving with his family to
Stratford where he graduated from Stratford High School in 1951. Lou met the love of his life, Anita
Rosell, in 1956 and they were married on September 16, 1961. They built their home in Monroe in 1967
and spent the rest of their lives together in that home where they raised their daughter and spent many
wonderful times together with their three cherished grandchildren. Lou retired from the Town of
Stratford in 1998 after 35 years as their cabinetmaker. He was a master of his craft and enjoyed making
many beautiful, custom pieces of furniture over the years, including a complete 10 piece bedroom set
for their daughter. He loved hunting and fishing, especially with his grandsons, and he and Anita
belonged to Fairfield County Fish & Game in Newtown where they also enjoyed shooting skeet.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa Papp Terifay, two grandsons, Sgt. Jacob
Terifay (USMC) and Henry Terifay, a granddaughter, Kelly Terifay, and former son-in-law, Kevin Terifay
all of Sandy Hook, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, William, Zoli,
Frederick, Alex and Henry Papp and sisters, Amelia (Molly) Papp, Helen Balberchak and Elizabeth Karcsinski.
