Louis J. Gauthier, 94, of Newington died peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2013. He was the beloved husband for 61 years, of the late Maryann (D’Arcy) Gauthier. Born in Sherbrooke, Canada, on February 1, 1919, he was a Newington resident since 1950. Mr. Gauthier was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker and was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the Newington Senior Center. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and stamp collector. A loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, he leaves his daughter Theresa A. DiNicola of Newington; three grandchildren, Erin E. Di Nicola and her fiancé Ruben Merejo of Cheshire, Natalie Biondi and her husband Ryan of Southington, and Mark DiNicola of Wallingford; and two great grandchildren Aiden and Oliver Biondi. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
