Mr. Louis Francis “Lou” Guimond, II passed away in Newnan, Georgia on Friday December 8, 2017, surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his father, Louis F. Guimond. Lou was born on February, 27, 1952 in Inglewise, IL to Louis F. Guimond Sr and Nathalie Massaro Guimond. Lou served in the United States Coast Guard as an electronic specialist. Following the Coast Guard he was employed with Delta Airlines. After 25 years with Delta Lou retired and began a career with Salisbury & Moore. With Salisbury & Moore Lou flourished as a project manager over seeing hotel renovations. Even after Lou left the Coast Guard his passion and love for the sea and water remained. A love that he instilled in his daughters by taking them on trips to Panama City and Maui whenever he could, teaching them how to snorkel and scuba dive. Not only did he pass on his love for the water to his girls, but also to their friends and other children by teaching them how to swim and dive. Lou also shared his time and another passion of his, woodworking, with friends and family. He enjoyed building furniture and working on projects with and for others. Whether it was swimming lessons, diving, or woodworking Lou found joy being surrounded by his friends and family. His family and friends loved Lou dearly. He leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Lori Philipps Guimond and his daughters who he loved and cherished, Kali Guimond and Graci Belle Guimond. He also leaves behind his mother, Natalie (Mark) Stanfield; brothers, Steve (Susie) Guimond, Mike (Debbie) Guimond; sister, Paulette (Terrance) Scheffer: mother-in-law, Vicki (Ronnie Dean) Findley; father-in-law, Gene Philipps; brother-in-law, Morgan Philipps; nieces, nephews and many friends.
