Louis F. Seeds, 93, of Bright Acres in Lower Saucon Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday November 27, 2016, in his home. He was the husband of Dorothy (Masiado) Seeds for 64 years. He was born in Fountain Hill on March 29, 1923, to the late William and Grace (Chamberlin) Seeds. Lou was a graduate of Liberty High School Class of 1941, where he was student manager of the football team. Later he managed a semi pro basketball team in Hellertown under Carl Manone. He worked for the Bethlehem Steel in the coke ovens as material supervisor for 42 years, until retiring in 1983. He also worked for the Lower Saucon Joint Planning Commission, where his biggest achievement was when he helped his neighbors get city water when the NJ Zinc Co. pumped their wells dry. Lou was a master gardner with Northamton and Lehigh Counties with over 1,000 hours. He was also a co founder of the Lehigh Valley Rhododendron Society. He enjoyed his yard and creating new Rhododendrons and naming them after his daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter. Lou was a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan since he was 8 years old. He never considered himself handicapped and he proved it to all who knew him. He did it all! He was a man of strong character, principal and ideas. Survivors: In addition to his wife Dorothy, daughter Kathleen Pecuch of Bethlehem; grandchildren Kolleen Ganser and husband Richard and Kyle Pecuch and wife Kate Rasich; great grandchildren Meghan Sebeth, Grace Ganser, Lyla and Kolton Pecuch. He was predeceased by his brothers, Roy, Carl, Ray, Russell and Earl; sister Kathryn and son in law Fran Pecuch.
