Louis C. Kuhlemeyer, 101, a retired Ridott area farmer died Tuesday afternoon, July 20, 2010 at the Lena Living Center.
He was born July 26, 1908 at Loran Township the son of Louis C. and Dora (Sager) Kuhlemeyer Sr. On December 17, 1931 he married Lucille E. Tammling at Ridott, IL she preceded him in death on August 16, 1997. He had farmed in Ridott Township many years before moving to Freeport in 1987 and worked 8years for Dickman’s Farm Service.
His memberships include Stephenson County Farm Bureau and lifelong member of Winneshiek Evangelical Free Church. He enjoyed woodworking and art painting.
Surviving are three sons, Harold (Sheila) Kuhlemeyer of Streator, Roger (Elaine) Kuhlemeyer of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Kenneth (Rae) Kuhlemeyer of Freeport; two daughters Arlene (Nevin) Kryder of Lena, and Rosalee (Kenneth) Buss of Nicholasville, KY; 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and one sister Doris Stearns of Rock City.
Preceding him in death were his wife Lucille; 2 grandchildren, one great grandchild, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
