Louis C. Krug, 78 of Whittemore, died May 7, 2008 at the Palo alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg. Louis Chris Krug Jr., the son of Louis C. Krug and Violet Salisbury was born February 8, 1930 in West Bend. He was raised and educated in West Bend, graduating from the West Bend High School. Louis was a lifelong United States Naval Veteran and while in the service met and married Claire Charland. He spent tours in Key West and Jacksonville, Florida, New Londan, Connecticut and Chicago, Illinois before returning to West Bend in 1998. He has lived the last five years in Whittemore. Survivors include his son Alan of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and step daughter Leilani of Jacksonville, Florida, brothers, Rolland, West Bend, IA, Earl, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Frank , Bella Vista, Ark, sisters Martha Studer, Emmetsburg, Ia and Eleanor Cooper of Fort Dodge, Ia. While in school Louis was active in band and played American Legion baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Kenny and brother Richard.
