Louis A. “GiGi” Derrico, Sr., 100, formerly of Bethlehem, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, in Westminster Village, Allentown. He was the loving husband of the late Rose (Shambora) Derrico, who died in 2009. One of 13 children, he was the son of the late Biaggio and Louisa (Cantelmi) Derrico. GiGi attended Juilliard School in NYC. He was an accomplished violinist, who played in the Philadelphia Philharmonic. He owned and operated Derrico’s Hardware Store for 25 years. Later, he worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., for 40 years in the #2 Machine Shop and as a door man. He was also a car salesman for Hauser Chevrolet. Survivors: Pop-Pop will be lovingly remembered by his sons Louis and his wife Anna of Bethlehem, John and his wife Lorraine of Fountain Hill; daughter Diane Petko and her husband Stan of Bath; brother Eddie; sisters Edith Flick and Louise DeRaimondo all of Bethlehem; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Rick and daughter Jean Jordan.
