Lou Ethel Thurman better known as “Mama Lou”, was born on August 2, 1936 in Holly Grove, AR to the late Morn and Lucy Jane Mosley. She was number seven of seventeen children. In 1949, her parents relocated the family to Denver, Colorado. She attended Morey Middle School and finished her education at Manuel High School. In 1954, Lou met Jasper Lee Thurman Sr and took him for her beloved husband on May 10, 1955. Seven amazing children were born to this union.
