Lou Ann Minter, age 74, of Rensselaer, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, at her residence.
Lou was born in Brook, IN on October 5, 1947, the daughter of Andrew R. and Ruth Violet (Smith) Dean. Lou attended school in the Brook School System. On November 14, 1987, Lou married Larry Edward Minter in Rensselaer and he survives. Lou worked for the Indiana Department of Children and Family Services as a teacher for fourteen years. She enjoyed painting, crafting, and operating equipment. She also enjoyed horseback riding and motorcycles.
Lou loved her kids and grandkids and was very proud of them. Her family will miss her dearly. Lou is survived by her husband, Larry; children, Tammy (Jeremy) Smart of Kentland, IN and Rob (Michelle) Harrolle of Brook, IN; step-children, Craig (Carrie) Minter, Edward (Jennifer) Minter, and Toby (Amy) Minter, all of Rensselaer; seventeen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Priscilla Dean, Andrew Dean, Walt Dean, and Jack Dean, all of Oregon .
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepson, Scott Edward Minter.
