Lou was born to Robert “Bob” and Anne Meisner on November 21, 1951 in Sterling, Colorado. The Meisner family lived and farmed near Messex, Colorado, and she attended Merino schools until she graduated in 1969.

In 1970 she met and in 1975 married Dan Wilkins and gave birth to one son in 1979. In 1982, she fell in love with and in 1983 married Kenneth “Butch” Freeman and they remained married for more than 38 years.

Lou worked at Social Services as a front desk receptionist until 1993. After that Lou delivered the South Platte Sentinel and many, many, dog treats along the way. Lou so deeply loved all people, her family, and all animals especially her own. Lou appreciated the music of her era and she loved to dance.

Lou was preceded in death by brothers Richard and Robert “Bud”, father Robert “Bob”, mother Anne, and sister Donna.

She is survived by sisters Jeanne and Bonnie and many nieces and a nephew, husband Ken, son Aaron and partner Jennifer, and grandson Jacob.
