Lottie A. Pelot, age 95, made her journey home to eternal life on December 8, 2021.
Lottie was born on April 24, 1926, to Joseph and Gertrude (Maciejewski) Szafranek. She attended Saint Lawrence Grade School and Lincoln High School. She was employed at Ford Hopkins drug store and J.C. Penny after graduation.
Lottie married Vincent Pelot, on October 20, 1945. He passed away on November 12, 2006, after 61 years of marriage. The two became partners in several business adventures, including The VFW Bar, Hillside Pavilion, Pelot’s Inn, The Switch Tavern, and The Pagoda Golf Course.
Together they built a winter home in Naples, FL in 1969 and wintered there until 2003.
Lottie spent time traveling, camping, and walking Vanderbilt Beach looking for seashells. She spent her time doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. She was an avid reader. She took on the challenge of game shows, and she was good at it. She enjoyed attending Community Theater and always looked forward to watching the Green Bay Packer games. She was a virtual member of CCW Saint Lawrence. She always looked forward to her visits with the younger generations that came to visit their Buszia.
Lottie is survived by her four daughters: Barbara Murawski of Naples, FL., Carol (Terry) Carlson, and Susan Carroll of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Patricia (Archie) Sawyer of Dresser, WI.; her grandchildren: Laurie (Jon) Breau, Terese (Mike) Naretta, Lisa (Kevin) Coombs, Rich (Pattie) Keyzer, Robin (Roger) Van Ert, Patricia (Rich) Laufenberg, John Carroll, Tori (Jeff) Horkan, and Al (Jessica) Ksionek; her step-grandchildren: Kathy Carlson (Jeff Schultz), Shannon Carlson (Natalie Woody) and Nicky Carlson, Archie (Gail) Sawyer, Monika (Tony) Salter; her great-grandchildren: Allison (Austin) Beaudette, Karrissa (Greg) Brown, Mikey Naretta, Taylor Coombs (Fred Welk), Alexa Coombs (Tarek Tuttle), Emily Alvarez, Isabel and Andrew Laufenberg, Grant, Samuel and Ryan Horkan, and Cassandra Ksionek; her step-great-grandchildren: Renee Harwick (Jim Schlieman), Cheryl (Andrew) Thorpe Bern Zimmermann, Becca, Leah, and Tyler Carlson, Terry Shayne, and Jose Carlson, Morgan and Ava Sawyer; and her great-great-grandchildren: Colton, Declan and Camden Beaudette, Lincoln and Ella Brown, Audyn, Rowyn and Declyn Welk and Adrian Alvarez; her step-great-great grandchildren: Brycen and Owen Harwick and Levi Schlieman. She was so proud to have lived to enjoy the 5th generation of grandchildren and thrilled to learn an additional great-great-grandchild is due to arrive in February; nephews Tom (Lynda) Szafranek, Bob (Bibi) Szafranek, Niece Mary Wirth, along with all her kind and loving Pelot nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Isla Pelot, Martha Torris, and cousin Linda Claassen.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Vincent Pelot, parents Joseph and Gertrude Szafranek, brother Norbert Szafranek and nephew James Szafranek, sons-in-law John Carroll and David Murawski.
