Lorrie J. (Gabriel) Ramirez, 40, of Southington, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 16, 2008 while on vacation in Maine. She was the devoted wife and loving mother of Fiagrio and Arianna Ramirez. Lorrie was born on August 31, 1967 in New Britain to Carolyn (Rix) Gabriel of Plainville and the late Robert D. Gabriel. She was also a devoted pet parent to her loving “Luna” who predeceased her. Lorrie grew up and lived most of her life in Southington. She attended Thalberg Elementary School, DePaolo Jr. High and graduated from Southington High School in 1985. She was one of the first women supernumerary police officers for the town of Southington. She worked as a security officer for the Park View Hilton in Hartford for several years and was employed by the University of Hartford for over 10 years as a public safety officer. Most recently she was employed by “Luv My Pet” in Plainville. Lorrie was a wonderful, daughter, mother, wife and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She is also survived by her sisters Tammy St. Amand of Oakland, ME, Terry (Birk) Pritchard of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Tina Gillette of Southington, Debbie Palmer-Wallin of Manchester; her brothers Scott Gabriel of New Britain, Keith Gabriel of Jacksonville, FL and Roy Gabriel of Oregon.
