Lorraine Waaso, 85, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family.Lorraine was born on November 27, 1922, the fourth of nine children born to Albert and Anna (Schlack) Heyn.
She was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman, Michigan and graduated from Bridgman High School in 1941. On June 30, 1945 she married Louis Waaso, they celebrated 62 years of marriage before his death on December 21, 2007. She was an avid bowler. Lorraine crocheted many beautiful keepsakes for her family. She served as a Leader for the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4-H, and served as a committee member of the Little League Association when she was raising her children.
Lorraine loved her family and was very proud of them all.Survivors include her children, Jennifer Anderson of Indianapolis, Indiana; Tim (Nancy) Waaso of Bridgman and David (Mary) Waaso of South Haven, Michigan; grandchildren, Stephanie Anderson, Michele (James) Trauger; Heather (Matthew) Riehle, Nathan Gauthier, Jerimee Gauthier, Andrew Waaso, Skyler Waaso, Kale Waaso, Brodie Waaso and Peyton Waaso; great grandchildren, Michael Riehle and Maggie Riehle; and her sister, Juanita Blosser of Bridgman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Beatrice Rahling, Virginia Essig, Wilma Myers, Charlotte Waaso and Mildred Farris, brothers, Arnold and Gerald, and her son-in-law, Edward Anderson.
