HAVERHILL – Lorraine Ottaviani passed away peacefully and suddenly on Thursday, August 29, 2019 in Clearwater, FL.
Lorraine was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Walter and Ann (Lambert) Vernon. When a small child, she and her twin sister, Terry, went to live in New York. She was taking classes in journalism when she met a handsome sailor. He soon became her husband and they moved to his hometown of Haverhill.
Lorraine spent her early marriage caring for her father-in-law and young daughter. She later joined the work force as a bookkeeper/office manager in the automotive industry and later, in a law office.
When the New England winters became too much for the two of them, they moved to California for a couple of years, and then, in 1982, to the Gulf coast of Florida.
After settling in their new home, they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, including various cruises.
