Lorraine B. (Waisner) Straznickas, 82, of Ottawa, passed away on May 16, 2014 at the LaSalle County Nursing Home.
Lorraine was born on July 19, 1931, in Rockford, to Williard and Ruth (Haeggquist) Waisner. She was a graduate of West Rockford High School. Lorraine married Veto Straznickas on September 8, 1951 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. She was a member of St. Columba Church and the St. Columba Choir. Lorraine was the Community Hospital of Ottawa Auxiliary past president, she worked in the gift shop and for ReRuns. She was also Wallace School Parents Club past president. Lorraine had a great love of children and music.
She is survived by her husband, Veto, 5 daughters; Dianne Lewis, of Ottawa, Linda (Bob) Rick, of Ottawa, Victoria (Steve) Wielgopolan, of Ottawa, Susan (Jon) Freeman, of East Greenwich, RI and Lori-Anne (Greg) Satterfield, of Ottawa, a son Kurt (Janice) Straznickas, of Yorkville, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Dick, Daniel, Bill and John, and a sister, Charlotte Hancock. Pallbearers will be Ross Rick, Luke and Nina Wielgopolan, Kyle Straznickas, Travis Mattingly and Stephanie Rick-Ellison. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated later
