Mrs. Lorraine R. O’Dowd, age 88, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Charles F. O’Dowd, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2006 in her home surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late William V. and Agnes Cassidy Dwyer, she was born on January 6, 1918 in Bell Harbor, NY. Mrs. O’Dowd was a kindergarten teacher at Simon Lake School, Milford for 20 years. Lorraine has left a legacy of strong family ties, loyalty and the love of life and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves her seven devoted children, William O’Dowd and his wife Betsy of Hamden, Dale VonEck and her husband Robert, Laura Lindblom and her husband Charles, Pegi Bugyi and her husband Clifford, Frances Beler and her husband Michael, all of Milford, Brian O’Dowd of Clinton, Anne Koehr of St. Louis, MI, sixteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jean McKenna of Long Island, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lorraine VonEck, two brothers, James and William Dwyer, and a sister, Muriel Kelly.
