Lorraine Marie Barry LaRue, 56, of Sharpsburg, wife of Philip Duane LaRue, died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at her home.
Born at Ft. McPherson, Georgia, December 31, 1960, she was a daughter of Sandra Lorraine Jones Barry and the late Edward James Barry. Formerly employed with Wells Fargo where she worked in the Mortgage Department, Mrs. LaRue worked with the Coweta County Convention and Visitors Bureau for six years. A member of the Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park, she volunteered many hours enhancing and maintaining the park and had served on the Board at the park for the last three years. A charter member of the Newnan Hiking Club, Mrs. LaRue loved hiking, geocaching, camping and anything to do with being outdoors. She especially enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with family.
Surviving in addition to her husband of thirty-four years and her mother of Riverdale are two daughters, Kira Sink and husband Chris of Newnan and Casey LaRue of Pittstown, NJ; two grandchildren, Emery Sink and Everett Sink; three sisters, Melinda Thomas, Cecilia Ziegler and husband Art, and Eileen Barry; a brother, Ralph Barry; and a large extended family.
