LORRAINE M. CACCHIONE (née Gangemi), of Yeadon, Pennsylvania, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 15, 1943 to the late Frank L. Gangemi (†1973) and Anna M. Gangemi (née Frankina, †1989). She was the younger sister of the late Anthony L. Gangemi (†2018). She passed from this world suddenly on August 8, 2023.
In 1966, she became the beloved and devoted wife of the late John N. Cacchione (†2022), and they celebrated 56 years of marriage shortly before his death. She was also the beloved and loving mother of son John F. Cacchione and daughter Elena T. Ziccardi (née Cacchione) (husband: Robert), grandmother of granddaughters Vanessa and Lana Ziccardi, aunt of nephew Michael Gangemi and nieces Maria White (née Gangemi) (husband: Thomas) and Michelle Deichert (née Gangemi) (husband: Ronald). She has many cousins.
Upon retiring from the government before the birth of her son, Lorraine dedicated herself to lovingly rearing her children and managing the domestic affairs of the Cacchione household. She was an excellent cook who particularly enjoyed hosting family meals for holidays, birthdays, and the monthly rotating cousins’ club maintained for decades by several cousins and their spouses. She was also long involved in planning for, and assisting at, various social events sponsored by Saint Louis Parish, as well as Saint Louis School and the Monsignor Bonner High School Mother’s Club when her children were in attendance at those schools. She served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at Saint Louis Parish for eleven years and as the preparer of Extraordinary Ministers’ schedules for a further ten years.
