Lorraine Lucille (Wanie) Tewell
Born May 26, 1920, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Harold and Evelyn Rue Cates, Lorraine moved to Salt Lake City at the age of 10, with her mother and step-father, V. Jay Martin.
Lorraine graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City in 1937 and then attended business college. She was employed by Personal Finance Company as secretary and cashier, and later as secretary to the vice-president of First Security Bank for several years. Her family moved to Portland, Oregon where she worked for Northwest Airlines until coming to Caldwell in 1945. There she met James S. Tewell, and they were married on February 14, 1946. The two of them recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary together.
Lorraine passed away on June 13th in Nampa at the age of 91. She is survived by her sister Jean Gerdes of Nampa, brother Don Martin of Salt Lake City, sons Terry of Boise, Tony and wife Karen of Meridian, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim.
