NOTES TO NANA!
Often times, people think that the word “soulmate” only relates to a romantic partnership. I am here to tell you that is false. My grandmother was my soulmate. From the day I was born, she has never let me down. Any dream I had she followed. Any friend I had was a friend to her also. So many people loved her because she gave her whole heart to everyone. I don’t believe she knew how to do otherwise. A phenomenal woman. A class act. The most incredible gift I have ever received. I love her fiercely and with more soul than I’ve ever loved anyone. You can only be loved by someone like her once in a lifetime – and that’s if you’re lucky. And I’m more than lucky, I’m blessed. It is an honor and a pleasure to be her granddaughter and I can only hope that I will measure up to even 1% of the awe inspiring woman she is. She never missed a moment of my life. She taught me what it is to be strong and what it means to have faith and dreams. I can never repay the unconditional love and unwavering kindness she gave to me. All I can do is give back to others and teach them what she taught me – to laugh loud, give generously, and love hard. With the deepest love and all that I am, I love you Nana. Thank you.
