Lorraine E. (Fitzgerald) Black, 96, of LaSalle, passed away March 30, 2016 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital.
Mrs. Black was born February 23, 1920 in Utica to Frank and Luella (Dewey) Fitzgerald. She married Robert A. Black on August 23, 1946 at St. Patricks Church Arlington, IL. He passed away February 15, 2007. Lorraine graduated from L-P-O Junior College in Oglesby. She retired from Waltham School as a school teacher.
Mrs. Black was a former member of Sacred heart Church in Dimmick Twp. and later at Holy Trinity Church in Cherry.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Peterson of Walnut, Jane (Dave) Eitutis of Troy Grove and Margo Forney of Peru; one son, Bill Black of Dimmick; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert, one daughter, Nancy Holder; one granddaughter, Kathy Thompson; one grandson, Justin Forney; and four sisters.
