Lorna Jane Ross Seward, 84, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2021, at the IU Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana. She was born on November 3, 1936, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Louis and Sarah (Rotheram) Ross.
She is a graduate of Bishop’s University and the McGill University School of Nursing. She worked for three years in Montreal prior to attending nursing school. After graduating from nursing school, she worked in Boston for one year and then moved to New York City. It was there that she met her future husband, John H. Seward, M.D. They were married in 1970 and spent 51 adventurous and very loving years together. In addition to being an amazing wife and mother, Lorna was well known for her work outside the home. In the early 1980’s she became a successful real estate broker in Bronxville, New York. After moving to Bloomington, Indiana in 1986, she became an ardent supporter of the Indiana University School of Music, serving on the Board of the Society of the Friends of Music. She was also a long-time supporter of St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild and became a life member.
Lorna is survived by her husband, John, son, John Ross Seward (Courtney) of West Linn, Oregon, daughter, Pamela Jane Crockett Seward of Nashville, Tennessee, and granddaughter, Katherine Ross Seward.
