Lorin “Sonny” Harvey Jennings, 81, of Brookston, son of the late Lorin Martin and Mable Irene (Shields) Jennings died Monday, November 12, 2018 at Heritage Health of West Lafayette.

Born in Tippecanoe County on October 27, 1937, and raised in Warren County, he attended Independence Grade School and graduated from Pine Village High School in 1955. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Mr. Jennings retired as a Master Sargent from the Air Force in Laurel Hills, FL where he resided for 26 years until his wife of 45 years, Veronica Mae Fuller died. At that time, he decided to move back to Indiana where his siblings resided. Sonny also worked for 13 years as a truck dispatcher.

During his enlistment, he served in England, The Philippines and was involved in the Viet Nam Conflict. He earned numerous awards before retiring. Sonny enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.

He is survived by his son, Renton Lorin (Tashia) Jennings of Red Level, AL; 3 sisters, Jackie Watts of Frankfort, Mary Remster of West Lafayette, and Carol Hogstrum of Attica; and 1 brother, Ronald (Martha) Jennings of Brookston; 3 grandchildren, Brenton, Sterling, and Trinity Jennings of AL. He is also survived by his best friend Ruthie and her family.
