Lorin Frederick Sparks, 80, Logansport and formerly of Marion, died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Sparks was born on September 29, 1928, in Wabash County to George F. and Mary Brown Sparks. His parents preceded him in death.
Lorin graduated from Wabash High School in 1947. Mr. Sparks was a cardiac pulmonary technician and retired from the Hines VA Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Lorin was a Korean War Veteran and served as a medic in the United States Navy attached to the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the VFW in Logansport and was an auxiliary state trooper in Illinois.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Gene Harris, Grapevine, Texas and a brother, Zelbert Sparks, Wabash, three sisters, Glenna Hampton, Wabash, Bonnie Selleck, Logansport, Eloris (Jack, Sr.) Hampton, Wabash, four grandchildren, and six great-grandsons, and former wife, Mary Lou Klein, Grapevine, Texas.
Mr. Sparks was preceded in death by three brothers: Orion (Wendy) Sparks, James Sparks, and John Sparks, and a sister, Verna Miller, and spouses, Phyllis Hoch Sparks and Rose Schnuckel Sparks.
