Lorin Roche passed away on Wed., Oct. 13, 2021. He was born on Mar. 30, 1943, in Brigham City, Utah, to Glen Arthur and Gladys Lucille Tingey Roche. Lorin attended Box Elder High and served in the Army Reserves as a young man. He was a member of the LDS church and held various church positions.

Lorin married Mary Ann Bruderer in Brigham City on Feb. 11, 1966 (later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple) and they raised their children in Brigham and Corinne. He also became a ‘man around the house’ for his sister and a fill-in dad of sorts for her girls after her husband passed. Lorin worked at the Defense Depot of Ogden for 32 years, helped work his parent’s farm, loved improving his own properties, and ran a landscaping business with his daughter, Ann, after his retirement. His landscaping clients will miss his skill and friendly face, but we’re sure Heaven’s gardens will never look better.

Lorin was always lending a hand and working on some project. He loved auctions, estate sales, and collecting antique farming equipment. You could always find Lorin with a comb and Blistex in his pocket and a Coke in hand or nearby. He enjoyed John Wayne and James Bond movies and listening to Country music. Lorin LOVED his ice cream and had a bowl of it Every. Single. Night.

Lorin found great joy in being outdoors, especially when with his family. He hunted, fished, and camped all his life and wanted to see Alaska’s great expanse. Many of his grandchildren will forever have fond memories of fishing with grandpa, drinking Coke (don’t tell our moms), and listening to music while riding in his truck – mostly his favorites but he tolerated a Britney Spears CD or two on occasion.

Lorin enjoyed bowling, billiards, ping pong, cards, and dominoes. Many grands loved playing in the water when he irrigated; racing toys down the water pipes or splashing each other (and even grandpa when he sometimes joined in.)

Lorin is survived by his wife of 55 years; children: Sienna Jade, Kayelynn Roche, Ann (Travis) Noyes; siblings: Sherran (Reed) Dayton, Maurice (Penny) Roche, Doris McQuerry; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Jeff and Sterling, and siblings Glen, Sherry, Godfrey, Darlene & Gary Wagstaff, and Robert McQuerry. He will be missed by many.
