Lorin A. Roberts

Our beloved Dad and Grandfather, Lorin Archie Roberts of Boise, Idaho, passed away of natural causes at home surrounded by his family, on May 5, having lived to be two months shy of his 98th birthday.
Born in Boise, Idaho on July 17, 1915 to Archie & Maude Roberts he was the eldest of three children with two sisters, Ardith and Viola. Growing up he attended Cole School and graduated with honors from Boise High School. He and his father worked together on their own dairy farm, and he continued on throughout WWII having received a deferment for this important work. As a young man he began his career with 1st Security Bank in Boise, and later became the Accountant for Capital Lumber Company for many years. He and his wife, Ruth, purchased Cloverdale Feed & Hay Supply and both built it into a thriving focal point for farmers all over the state until his retirement in 1977.
On May 26, 1940 he married the love of his life, Ruth Naomi Allen. They both attended The Boise Bible College and traveled with friends to various events throughout the Northwest preaching the gospel.
They opened their hearts and home to twin nieces, Patsy and Nancy, who lived with them from time to time up until graduation.
After retirement Lorin and Ruth became members of the Capital Gypsies, Good Sam and the Happy Hoofers Clubs holding various offices in each of them. They also spent their summers camping and fishing and later joining the Snowbirds going South for the winters. During this time they met many wonderful people, and forged long lasting friendships that have been a blessing to them in their elder years. During this time Dad learned the art of basket weaving and wood carving and was a member of Idaho Woodcarvers. He spent many hours creating beautiful pieces of art that have become keepsakes for his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his sister, Ardith Maier (Victor) of Nampa, daughters Joyce Robertson and Linda Fialkowski (Pierre Mailloux) of Boise, five grandchildren, Kristen DiBernardo (Neil) of Vancouver, WA. Daniel Robertson (Kristi) of Washougal, WA, Jeff Fialkowski, (Renee) of Boise,. Andy Fialkowski, (Deanna) of Hailey, ID, and Ben Fialkowski of Boise, great grand daughter, Brogan Taylor of Vancouver, WA, and a great great Grandson, Jayce Taylor of Vancouver, WA., as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lorin was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, his parents, Archie &Maude Roberts, a sister Viola Ellis and a great grandson, Jeffry Taylor.
