Loretta Strickland Simons
Loretta Strickland Simons, of Greensboro, GA, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at the age of 78 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, GA. Loretta was born in the Liberty Community of Greene County. She was the daughter of the late Talmadge and Lura Gentry Strickland. She graduated from Greensboro High School in 1953 and married William Ralph Simons of Crawfordville, GA. Most of her working career was spent at Lena Hy Garment Company and Rite Aid Pharmacy.
In addition to her husband of nearly sixty-one years, William Ralph Simons of Greensboro, GA, she is survived by three daughters, Teresa Kelly and husband Sidney of Greensboro, GA; Janice Roper of Greensboro, GA and Tammy Underwood of Greensboro, GA; two brothers, Gentry Strickland and wife Frances of Greensboro, GA and Roy Strickland of Gray, GA; five grandchildren, Pete O’Neal and wife Kristy of Greensboro, GA, Win O’Neal of Greensboro, GA, Trey Underwood and wife Brittany of Greensboro, GA, Tanner Underwood of Union Point, GA and Tal Underwood of Union Point, GA; four great-grandchildren, Samantha O’Neal, Ike O’Neal, Johnson O’Neal and Lane Underwood; and a number of other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Credille.
