Loretta Mae Allen, 90, of Spring Bay, IL, passed away at 7:15 pm on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL.
She was born on August 17, 1931, in Decatur, IL, to Charles M. and Hazel M. (Slover) Easley. She married Melvin D. Allen on January 20, 1952 in Peoria, IL. He passed away on August 9, 2016.
Surviving are her son, Richard “Rick” (Gale) Allen of Bayview Gardens, IL; daughter, Vickie (Greg) Beoletto of Hudson, IL; grandchildren, Amanda (James) Street, Richard (Sara) Beoletto, and Dylan Allen; and great-grandchildren, Cade, Jocelyn, and Sydney. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters Oletta Conder, Norma Dykes, and Catherine Meyer.
Loretta worked in the accounting department for CILCO for 16 years and then later as a bookkeeper in the office for McDonald’s. She was the first Village Clerk of Bayview Gardens and also the first female bus driver for Riverview Grade School. She was a member of the Spring Bay American Legion Auxiliary.
