Loretta Lois (Vanhorn) McClain, age 81, of Mt. Clare, WV, went to meet her Lord and Savior on December 11, 2016 at United Hospital Center, surrounded by her family. She was born July 5, 1935 in Gilmer County, WV; the daughter of the late Rufus Vanhorn and Ina (Summers) Vanhorn.
Loretta is survived by her husband of 63 years, James R. McClain whom she married on July 3, 1953; three sons, James L. McClain & his wife, Carol, Wilford T. McClain & his wife, Jill and Philip E. McClain; seven grandchildren, Timothy, Zach, Ashley, Christy and Tesla McClain, Marsha Stanton, and Greg Langford; thirteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her two sons, Jeffrey P. McClain and Mark A. McClain; three sisters and a brother.
Loretta worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and was an EMT with Harrison County Emergency Squad. She was a loving and caring woman dedicated to her family and her faith.
