Loretha Rockett-Harris, 60, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born Sept. 1, 1952, in Clarksdale, Miss., to James and Martha A. (Bonds) Rockett. On July 2, 1994, she married John W. Harris Jr. in Elkhart.

In addition to her mother and husband, survivors include two daughters, Tanya Danner and Trena (Andrew) Hoff, both of Elkhart; a son Taiwan Danner of Elkhart; two stepsons, Tyrus Coleman of Elkhart and John W. Harris III of Flint, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Artavia Redd of Fort Wayne and Whitney Harris of South Bend; two sisters, Doris (Rick) Newbill and Doe (Brian) Pritchard, both of Elkhart; six brothers, James (Karen) Rockett Jr. of Cassopolis, Mich., William (Mary) Rockett of Atlanta, Willie (Thelma) Rockett of Aurora, Colo., Chester (Dottie) Rockett of Elkhart, Elmo (Judy) Rockett of Jacksonville, Fla., and Terry Dean Rockett Sr. of Elkhart; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

In addition to being a loving homemaker, she was employed at Brill Seating, formerly Carlton Manufacturing, for 34 years. Loretha was a member of Kingdom Impact Christian Cultural Church. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
