Lorenzo Vigil

Lorenzo Vigil, 89, a resident of Pecos, New Mexico passed away unexpectedly November 21, 2018.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Genovevo and Ramona Vigil; in-laws, Herman and Valentina Griego; sisters, Carolina, Martha, Dolores, Emma, Ester; granddaughter, Angela Romero; son-in-law, Joe Gallegos; nephew, raised as a son, Clyde Vigil.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Priscilla Vigil; children, Jackie (Joel) – her children Carl (Carolyn), Christopher (Joanna), Deanza, Son-in-law Johnathan – 5 granchildren; George (Terry) their daughter, Felicia (Andrew); Kathy – her daughers, Cyrena (Brian), Tamra – 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; Liz (Ermo) – her sons, Damian, Michael (Vivian) – 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson; Billy (Dewana) – their sons, William (Ashley), Vincent (Paula) – 6 grandchildren; Peter (Debbie) –his children, Fabian – 2 grandchildren; Danelle – 2 grandchildren; and their children, Sheryl (Jonathan), Loren (Loren) – 10 grandchildren; also survived by Clyde’s family – Donna, Stephanie, Kevin, Craig; sister, Linda (Andy) Lopez; brother, Felimon Vigil and extended in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He was a recipient of the Purple Heart for his service in the Korean War, worked for Southern Union Gas Company, Miner in the mining industry in New Mexico and Arizona; was active throughout his lifetime with various church organizations – Cursillo, Crusados, Weekend of Christian Living, Marriage Enrichment Sponsor/Coordinator, active church choir member, a Eucharistic Minister and active member of Knights of Columbus, America Legion, VFW and DAV.

He had a passion for music and was well known for his guitar talent and singing.  He enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors with family and friends but will be fondly remembered most for his love and compassion which he extended to anyone and everyone he came in contact with.
