Lorene G. Rogers, 89, of Clinton, IL and formerly of Virginia, IL, died December 20, 2010, at Manor Court in Clinton.

She was born November 13, 1921 in Bluff Springs, IL, the daughter of Elmer Simon and Cora Ethel Oetgen Reichert. She married James F. Rogers on May 12, 1946 in Bluff Springs and he preceded her in death on July 19, 1997.

She is survived by one son, James M. “Marc” (wife, Glenna) Rogers of Clinton; one daughter, Gwen (husband, Chuck) Yurieci of Bloomington, IL; one granddaughter, Anne Grace Elizabeth Rogers of Clinton; one sister, Hazel L. Taylor of Mt. Ayr, IA; and several nieces and nephews who will remember her as “Aunt Ene”. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Floyd, Roy, Carlos (surviving wife, Coy of Milford, IL), Elmer Carrol and Norman Reichert; and two sisters, Annabelle Jokisch and Dorothy Caroline, in infancy.

Mrs. Rogers was a graduate of Virginia High School. She was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church in Virginia and was currently a member of Clinton Presbyterian Church. She was active in the Kiwanianne Club of Decatur and Friendship Club in Oakley, IL. She, along with her husband, sponsored and provided transportation to children receiving care at Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis. Lorene was a great cook and excellent pie maker. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and playing the piano and organ at several churches.
