Mrs. Lorene Avery Pryor was born in Morgan County, Alabama on August 18, 1922 to the late Podge Avery Sr. and Myrtle Moore Avery. She made her transition to a heavenly home on July 10, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Pryor accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and joined Shiloh M.B. Church. She remained a faithful member where she was in Choir No. 1 for many years. Lorene was married the late Reverend Leroy Pryor in 1946.
Lorene was a retired employee of Decatur City Schools where she was a cook for West Decatur Elementary School.
She leaves to cherish her memory: five children, Gwendolyn Hall of Detroit, MI, Leroy Pryor Jr. of Decatur, the Reverend Earl, (Ida) Pryor of Griffin, GA, Alfreda Pryor of Chicago, IL and Belinda Pryor of Decatur; one brother-in-law, James Pryor of Cleveland, OH; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister; Christine Tate; brothers, Flintroy Avery and Podge Avery Jr.
