Lorena Brown Jenkins

Lorena Brown Jenkins died peacefully at mid-day, on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Luther C. Jenkins, one daughter, Linda Richardson, and sisters Audrey Wall and Lenora Miller.
Lorena was born December 22, 1915 in Jay, Florida to Dawson and Ruby Brown. She was raised in Santa Rosa County with 27 first cousins who were all like sisters and brothers. She graduated from Jay High School and married her high school sweetheart, Luther, July 7, 1935. Luther and Lorena moved their family to Ft. Walton Beach in 1947, and later established a family owned moving and storage company. Lorena enjoyed cooking for her many friends and family, fishing with Luther, quilting, and counting her grandchildren.
Lorena is survived by one sister, Alyce Hoff and husband Jerry, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; three children, Betty Lux of Downingtown, PA, James Jenkins and wife Jennifer, of Mary Esther, FL, and Bill Jenkins and wife Lyn of Destin, FL; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of special nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
