Lorelle Olivia Carroll Van Buren, age 47, of Silver Spring, MD passed away on August 29, 2019 at Holy Cross Hospital.
Lorelle Carroll was born on April 12, 1972 in Harlem, NY. She was the only child of John and Merle Carroll. Affectionately known as “Relle” to her family and friends, there wasn’t a shy bone in her body and she was always quick to “tell it like it is” or give you a “Time Out”
She graduated in the class of 1994 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina. She then moved on to take a few graduate courses in Psychology at Bowie State University in Bowie, MD.
During Relle’s time at Bowie State University, she decided to make Laurel, MD her permanent residence. With her knack for making friends and bringing people together, her home quickly became a favorite hang out spot.
On January 4, 2011, she met the love of her life, Christopher Van Buren and on April 29, 2017, they married in a small ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Relle was a fighter to the end. Her love of life pushed her to fight back against Diabetes, Congestive Heart Failure and Kidney Failure, with her husband fighting right by her side at every doctor’s appointment.
Surviving Lorelle are her Husband Christopher Van Buren; Stepson, Marvin Van Buren; Mother, Merle Carroll; Aunts Cecelia Ruffin and Janet Powell; Cousins Alyson Mills & Paris Weeden; GodBrothers Jamel & Victor Potter; Goddaughter, Ryan Sinclair; and many extended family members and friends. Lorelle was preceded in death by her father, John D. Carroll Jr.
