Lora “Peggy” Stanley Boone, 94, of Cocoa Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 1, 2020, surrounded by her family. Born on September 13, 1925 in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of Milton Sterling Stanley, Sr. and Edith Mathilda Mielke. She attended Central H.S. in Syracuse and on August 2, 1947, married Lawrence Alfred Boone in Avon Park, FL. Lawrence pre-deceased her on Father’s Day, June 15, 2008. They resided in Syracuse and Cape Canaveral, FL and after Mr. Boone’s passing, she moved to Cocoa Beach.
She is survived by two daughters, Doreen (Scott) LaVine of Norwood, NY and Cocoa Beach, FL, and Jacqueline Boone of Phoenix, AZ, a grand-daughter, Karen (Richard) Bond of Dunn Loring, VA, and sisters-in-law, Audrey Boone White, Skaneateles, NY and Joan Boone Polano, Camillus, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Lora was also pre-deceased by two sisters, Cora (Maynard) Barker and Georgia (Carl) McDermott, and one brother, Milton Sterling Stanley Jr., and several sisters and brothers-in-law.
She was a home maker and mother her entire life, a master seamstress, an avid reader, and a superb cook, and enjoyed knitting in the company of her friends.
