Lora L. Harris, 92, a longtime resident of Caldwell, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2008 at a local care center with family members by her side.
Lora was born in Dora, Missouri September 30, 1915 to Isaac Kemp and Lucinda (Jackson) Kemp, with one sister and one brother. She married Lawrence (L.B.) Harris on October 15, 1933. Lora spent her earlier life in Missouri with her husband and 5 children, four daughters and one son, until they moved to Idaho in 1951, where they remained with the exception of six years in Anchorage, Alaska.
Lora was preceded in death by three infant children; her husband, L.B. Harris in 1998; and a son, I.W. (Buck) Harris in 1997.
Our mother’s passion in life was her family and particularly her children. When her four daughters were together she would introduce them to people as her “Girls”. Her second love in life was probably her quilting which she did as a young girl with her mother by a coal oil lamp and always insisted doing by hand. She also did lots of crafts and puzzles.
She loved to go fishing and camping with her family, and she loved to catch the most fish.
Gone from our lives is one who possessed a great love of family and friends, her smile can never be replaced in this world and Heaven will be enriched by her presence.
Lora’s legacy to her family and many beloved friends is her loving and caring nature, sense of humor and a strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
In her immediate family she instilled a strong sense of right and wrong, honesty, and a faith which will sustain us during the remainder of our lives. May God richly bless you Mom during your final and blessed journey to join your Lord and Savior.
Mom, you will be missed all our lives to our last breathes. All Our Love, Your Daughters.
