Lonnie Wyatt Mangum, Jr.,84, of Burlington, died at his residence on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 6:46 AM.
A native of Granville County, NC, he was the husband of Catherine Newlin Mangum, who survives, and the son of Lonnie Wyatt Mangum, Sr. and Lona Sanford Mangum, both deceased. Lonnie was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and was a long time supporter of the Educational Foundation of the University. Mr. Mangum was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington. He was a retired businessman and accountant and a former member of the Burlington Kiwanis Club. After retirement, Lonnie volunteered with the Meals On Wheels program.
In addition to his wife Catherine, Lonnie is survived by his daughter, Laura Moss; three sisters, Aline Campbell, Elna Holmes, and Sarah Shore; and a brother, Gilbert Mangum.
