Lonnie “Goose” Cason passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side in Okeechobee, Florida. A resident of Okeechobee since 2007, Goose was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He grew up between Virginia and Knots Island, North Carolina. Goose served in the United States Army during Vietnam; he was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Goose met his wife, Debi, in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1971 at Joey and Brenda’s wedding. Goose and Debi were married on May 18, 1972.
Together they had three children, Lonnie (Heather), Amber (Chris), and Joey (Tori). They have thirteen grandchildren, Felicia, Justin, Payton, Ariana, Jenaya, Chloe, Hagen, Christina, Ashley, Briana, Leeann, Eli, and Jerick; and they have twelve great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Kaye, Jeffery, Eddie, Brenda, Deirdre.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister, Joey and Charlene.
Goose enjoyed hunting, going mudding, riding his side by side, and fishing. Goose loved to socialize and have a good time. Most would say he was the life of the party. He was a big practical joker. His family was his everything. His wife was his whole world.
