GRANGEVILLE: Lonnie D. Ellibee, 72, of Grangeville passed away peacefully Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Meadowlark Homes in Grangeville.
Lonnie was born April 28, 1945 in Nyssa, Oregon, to Leo and Harriett Ellibee. He graduated from Riggins High School in 1963, and joined the US Navy in 1965, serving three tours in Vietnam as a Fighting Seabee. He was honorably discharged in 1968. He met Marie Henderson, they later married and had two boys, Guy and Matt. They later divorced.
Lonnie spent the majority of his life operating heavy equipment, driving long haul truck and chip truck prior to his retirement.
Lonnie is survived by his sons, Guy (Alicia) Ellibee of Clarkston, Washington, Matt (Laura) Ellibee of Burns, Oregon, his grandchildren, Brock, Brandon, Sam and Megan. His sisters, Lynette Moritz, Lyla Spencer and Lavonna Rudger, brother Larry Ellibee, his beloved “Heeler Team” Diesel and Pepper and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gloy Hatch.
