He was raised in and around the McDonald, Kansas area and graduated from McDonald Rural High School with the class of 1966. He went to Fort Hays State College for a year and then began working common labor for members if the McDonald community.
Soon after, Lonell moved and lived in the Sterling Colorado area, where he lived for over forty years.
Lonell spent his adult life working with concrete. He spent forty-two years with Yost Construction in Sterling.
In retirement he enjoyed his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and sports. The Rockies, Broncos and Avalanche were on his TV constantly. He also loved the local sports teams, especially Northeastern Junior College women’s volleyball and men’s basketball.
Lonell’s most precious asset is his son, Scott Stauffer and Scott’s wife, Jessica. Scott and then Jessica put love in his heart and a smile on his face, always.
Lonell trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
Preceding him in death were an infant brother, Barry Lane, and his parents, Olav & Goldie Nygaard.
