Lon E. Morris, Jr. (L.E. aka “Big Daddy”) passed away on October 7, 2017 at the age of 97. He had a full and productive life. He was born on August 27, 1920 to Lon Morris, Sr. and lula Williamson Morris in Newnan, Ga.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Hilda Morgan Morris and his three siblings, Billy Morris, Evelyn Morris Boswell and Fred Morris. Survivors include his children Lon (Eddie) Morris,III and Patsy Morris Cordle; grandchildren Lisa Stanford, Ed Robinson, Amy Jo Johnson, Gene Morris, Jimmy Morris, Diane Miller, Donna Owen, Trey Cordle and Cathie Clute, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren.
L.E. worked at R.D. Cole for many years before moving away from Newnan and working with Linde Co. and Union Carbide as a sales rep and training instructor before retiring in his early 50’s and becoming an entrepreneur and a “Mister Fix-it”. He served in the Army during World War I in the Philippines. L.E. loved movies, music and was an avid collector of cars, coins and friends.
