Born on April 15, 1937, in Ardmore, Okla. to Ivan Andrew and Maunty Lee Richards Chaney, he died Dec. 19, 2006 at the local hospital. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Chaney; his parents; and two brothers, Floyd and David Chaney.
Lon had been a resident of the Ardmore area the past ten years, moving here from Oklahoma City. He loved the outdoors and his favorite place was the lake where he spent his final years. He was adopted by a stray dog whom he named Little Girl. The two of them enjoyed many peaceful days on beautiful Lake Murray. Prior to his retirement he worked in sales in Oklahoma City and Kingston. He was a hard worker but always found time to enjoy life.
