     Muncie-Lomoan Phipps, 91, went to his Heavenly Home, Sunday, May 11, 2014.  He was born May 5, 1923, in Monticello, Kentucky, the son of Millard and Mary Gregory Phipps and attended school in Kentucky.

     Mr. Phipps was a stone cutter for Wearly Monuments for twenty eight years prior to his retirement.  

     He was a member of the Anderson Assembly.

     Surviving are his children, Ralph Phipps, Muncie, Sue Rodgers, (husband, David), Matthews, Betty Garrett, (husband, John), Yorktown, and Jerrie Heffernan, Markleville; his brothers, Gerstal Phipps, (wife, Mary), Pine Knot, KY, and Gilbert Phipps, Anderson; his sister, Faye Hughes, (husband, Ron), Muncie; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his wife, Oringia Dobbs Phipps, who died in 2006; his sons, Harold, Arthur, Robert and Junior Phipps; his daughter, Janet Phipps; his brothers, Clyde and Paul Phipps; and his sisters, Thelma Cole and Irene Phipps.

     The family wishes to thank the staffs at Bethel Pointe Health and Rehab and New Hope Hospice for the care they gave to Lomoan.
